They also feature a feature called carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.
However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also quiet and works while you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.
This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

3. iRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored 100% in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. look at here now boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dry mop pads.
The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home based on how dirty these areas tend to be.
If you have a larger home, it's worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Also the recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
